What this lab does — and does not — do

The worksheet calculates summaries from values you enter. It does not run a speed test, certify your line, diagnose a faulty router or rank providers. Start a real measurement on the speed-test page, then use these guides to interpret it.

Worked examples are explicitly labelled illustrative. They are not customer measurements, provider averages or laboratory findings. No account is required. Worksheet values stay in this page's memory and are not sent to a server; closing or reloading the page clears them.

A fair test has a record

Note the device, connection type, location, time, test service and any other active traffic. Without these details, a change in speed can be mistaken for a change in the provider's service. If you change two things together, record that limitation instead of claiming one of them caused the improvement.
