For most homes, 100 Mbps download is comfortable for multiple HD streams, calls and everyday browsing. Upload speed and latency matter just as much for calls and gaming.
Wi-Fi signal, device limits, network congestion, server distance and other users on your connection can all reduce the speed measured at a specific moment.
Ping is the round-trip delay to the test server. Jitter is how much that delay changes between samples. Lower and more consistent results are better.
Packet loss means some data did not arrive in time. It can cause lag, robotic audio, frozen video and buffering even when download speed looks fast.
